Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus of Sierra College: Singing into Spring

The Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus of Sierra College, directed by Susan K. Horst, Chris Nelson and Thomas Acord will present and#8220;Welcome Springand#8221; at The Resort at Squaw Creek Saturday, May 1.

The chorus will be accompanied by the Diablo Valley College Philharmonic Orchestra and Chamber Singers from Pleasant Hill, Calif., directors Dr. Owen J. Lee and Brett Peppo. Major works to be performed include Haydnand#8217;s and#8220;Te Deum,and#8221; and#8220;Va Pensieroand#8221; from Verdiand#8217;s and#8220;Nabuccoand#8221; and the finale from Bernsteinand#8217;s opera and#8220;Candide.and#8221;

The Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus continues its reputation of presenting a rich variety of literature. The performance will include a jazz segment, featuring a professional dance couple from the Sierra Dance Center, light operetta music of Gilbert and Sullivan, and rich standard choral literature.



The chorus is fortunate to have a number of fine soloists: Sopranos Pamela Moutinho and Meghan Powers; tenors Tom Acord and Tom Rinne and basses Michael Holley and Steve Thompson. The concert welcomes the advent of Spring. Celebrate the season in the Resort at Squaw Creek, May 1 at 7 p.m. General admission is $12 and preferred seating is $20. Children and students are free. Tickets can be purchased from members, through http://www.singttcc.org or at the door. Get your tickets early for this one night performance.
