Learn practical tools to generate optimal well-being in your life.Positive psychology is the scientific study of what goes right with people. For many years, the field of psychology was focused primarily on what goes wrong and how to alleviate these negative symptoms. Positive psychology sees symptom relief as only half of the equation. To really flourish in life we need to also know what generates well-being and creates vitality. In this introductory workshop, look at key ways to use what science is teaching in order to go beyond just “not feeling bad.” Topics such as resilience, character strengths, positive emotion, flow, mindsets, meaning and positive relationships all play a role. Leave with concrete tools to generate optimal well-being and thrive. This event is free. Leisa’s workshops are based on her experience as a wife, mom, daughter and a business person and focus on sharing practical ways to use meditation and mindfulness to improve day-to-day life experiences. Many people suffer from various forms of depression, hopelessness, and feeling unable to cope with life. Although depression may have physical causes (which this class is not intended to address), its psychological roots can also be identified. Buddha taught the deep causes of suffering lie within the mind itself. Through gentle practices of meditation and mindfulness, learn to understand your own mind and gradually work to overcome the spiritual causes of depression. As negativity clears, experience inner peace, joy and wisdom. Relationships improve, self-confidence increases and life becomes more meaningful.Join For Goodness Sake for this free workshop.
