Tahoe Yoga Institute presentsTahoe Yoga Institute (TYI), Tahoe City’s community yoga studio, is offering two special winter Yoga/Skate Ski Clinics designed to share asanas or postures to enhance skate skiing technique. Tim Hauserman, Tahoe local and author of “Monsters in the Woods: Backpacking with Children” and TYI instructors Tammy Miller and Caroline McNally will lead two groups on Jan. 10 and Feb. 7 in a yoga class and skate skiing lesson at the Tahoe Cross Country Center. Each workshop is open to the public. Cost is $20/person/class. Reservations are required as space is limited to 20. All proceeds from the show are being donated in her name to the AIDS Lifecycle event, a seven-day ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS research. Dennison, a Truckee native, planned on riding in this event before her life was tragically cut short while using a crosswalk in San Francisco. Friends and family will ride the event in memory of Dennison, and Hip Hop for Hope will help raise funds.Live performances by Cambo and The Life, DJ Effective, and D-funk will keep you grooving. Stay classy, Tahoe.Telemark, Alpine Touring Demo Alpenglow Sports has partnered with Alpine Meadows Ski Resort to provide its 3rd Annual Telemark and Alpine Touring Demo Event, Saturday, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting. The free event will showcase the latest in telemark and alpine touring equipment. Participating vendors include Black Diamond, Dynafit, G3, Scarpa, Garmont, K2, Rossignol, NTN and Rotefella. Valid lift ticket or season pass required, with a drivers license and credit card for deposit. Free raffle for demo participants at Alpenglow in Tahoe City at 6 pm. Friday, Jan. 8, kick off party sponsored by Cloudveil and the Sawtooth Ridge Caf, premiering the film “Swift, Silent, Deep: A History of the Jackson Hole Air Force.” The show is free at 7 p.m.
