TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; The ninth annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop steering committee named Family Resource Center of Truckee as this yearandamp;#8217;s nonprofit beneficiary.A portion of the revenue from this event will go directly back to the Family Resource Center of Truckee, a nonprofit committed to empower families and individuals to be self sufficient, valued and contributing members of the community. The Family Resource Center is designed to respond to the changing community needs. They frequently reevaluate programming to ensure they meet the needs of the Truckee community.andamp;#8220;We had many worthy applicants, it was a hard decision to make,andamp;#8221; said Brinn Wellise, president of Switchback Public Relations + Marketing and owner of the event. andamp;#8220;We selected Family Resource Center of Truckee because it serves a huge segment of our community.andamp;#8221;The Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop has gained momentum in each successive year, donating proceeds to local nonprofit organizations such as InnerRhythms Dance Theatre, Lake Tahoe Music Festival, Humane Society of Truckee/Tahoe, Truckee High School band program, Girls on the Run Sierras, Sierra Senior Services and more.Help support the Family Resource Center of Truckee by planning to attend the ninth annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk andamp; Shop set for Saturday, Oct. 6, noon-4 p.m. Attendees will have an opportunity to shop and stroll in historic Truckee while indulging in fine vintages paired with food samples from regional restaurants and caterers.Tickets for the seventh annual Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk and Shop are $35 in advance ($40 day of) and available at http://www.TruckeeWineWalk.com. A $3 service fee applies for online sales. The ticket includes wine tastings with more than 30 wineries, five food tickets, commemorative glass, program/passport and goodie bag.
