TRUCKEE, Calif. andamp;#8212; On July 27, Eagle Scout Michael Reynaud was awarded his rank of Eagle Scout. Michael is the 39th Eagle Scout from Truckeeandamp;#8217;s Boy Scout Troop 267 since 1973.Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). A Scout who attains this rank is called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase andamp;#8220;Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.andamp;#8221;As part of earning his Eagle Rank Michael Reynaud had to create, develop and execute a service project for the community. On April 16, Michael orchestrated a Boys Sports Day for Elementary School aged boys in Truckee (see Sierra Sun article, dated April 26, 2011, https://www.sierrasun.com/article/20110426/COMMUNITY/110429935andamp;parentprofile=search). More than 90 boys participated in this event. On Aug. 21, 130 friends and family gathered for an Eagle Court of Honor to officially present Michael his Eagle Scout Rank. Officiating this ceremony was Michaelandamp;#8217;s grandfather, Joseph Reynaud, recipient of BSAandamp;#8217;s Silver Beaver award and former Scoutmaster of Troop 708, Castro Valley, Calif. Delivering Michaelandamp;#8217;s Eagle Challenge was his Uncle Steve Reynaud, Eagle Scout of Troop 708 and Truckee resident.
