Truckee’s KidZone Museum plans to expand

TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; The agenda was full and ideas were in no short supply at the KidZone Museum’s strategic session held at Martis Camp. Facilitator Kim Bradley with Board President Helen Pelster and Director Carol Meagher guided the group of board members and volunteers to strategize how the KidZone will continue along their stated path: to inspire learning through creative play and discovery.
Following a discussion of present successes and future opportunities was a brainstorming of ideas and needs. Discussions ultimately centered on developing new funding sources as current avenues of funding become less available. The KidZone Museum is also looking to expand in order to better serve the community. The need for a capital fundraising campaign to fund a new facility is imperative. The KidZone Museum exists because of the many volunteers who donate time and those who donate money to keep the museum operating. If you have a special skill or desire to help, now is a great time to step up and become a member, volunteer, cash donor or benefactor.
