TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; Thanks to all the businesses and volunteers, KidZone’s fundraiser was a great success. Folks arrived in multitudes, dressed in fabulous retro attire at the SnowFest! Bump and#8216;n Jump Ski Party, Saturday, March 12.

and#8220;The event was a blast. We rarely get a chance to dance the night away to such great music and with so many fun people,and#8221; said Kerry Stendell, a parent and volunteer for the KidZone Museum in Truckee.

Crux Events transformed an airport hangar into a nightclub which included a stage for live music performed by Ben Jammin’s Allstars and Downbeat. The food, graciously provided by When Pigs Fly BBQ, was outstanding.

The live and silent auction items, which included a Dragonfly cooking class for a group of eight, ski days with pros Marco Sullivan, Toni Standteiner and Tincho Klenk, and a Santa Cruz beach house weekend with passes to Monterey Bay Aquarium, raised more than $10,000.

Thanks to the many local business and volunteers, the fundraising dollars will help support the Museum’s future outdoor nature learning area and the new ocean-themed exhibit scheduled for installation in April. Visit or call 530-587-KIDS for more information about exhibits, programs and summer camps for children.
