Community submitted photoDonald Britton captures scenes from the Rockes, Sierra and Pacific Coast. His work will show at Vista Gallery, with Aug. 14 reception.

TAHOE VISTA and#8212; Vista Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of their newest artist, Donald Britton of Incline Village. Brittonand#8217;s oil paintings depict landscape scenes from the Northern Rockies to the Pacific Coast to the Sierra Mountains. He was selected to show by Vista Gallery for his excellent skill in capturing the essence of mountain scenery and illustrating whatand#8217;s to love about the mountain life style.

Brittonand#8217;s approach to his art portrays his passion for his surroundings. Before putting brush to canvas, he takes the time to absorb the locationand#8217;s atmosphere to contemplate what captures his appreciation. After many plein air sketches and often hundreds of photographs he returns to his studio to construct and optimize the elements of his final piece.

Vista Gallery is excited and privileged to have an artist of Brittonand#8217;s caliber and invites everyone for the opening show on Saturday Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. Appetizers will be provided. Dawn Bertsch, a representative from Chambers and Chambers Wine Merchants, will conduct a wine tasting highlighting several of their most special vintages previous to the opening, 3-5 p.m. The tasting is free and open to the public.

Come Vista Gallery for an excellent afternoon of wine and art, 7081 N. Lake Blvd., Tahoe Vista. Open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and most weekend evenings until 8 p.m. Call 546-7794 or visit
