Volunteer for a Tahoe Rim Trail workday

TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; The Tahoe Rim Trail Association is seeking volunteers on two major projects: Rim to Reno and Daggett Summit. No experience necessary. Please register so there will be enough crew leaders, tools, safety gear, etc. Volunteers should bring their own lunch and water, sunscreen, bug spray, water and a backpack. Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, boots and work gloves. The Tahoe Rim Trail Association will provide hard hats, trail building tools and expert crew leaders. Rim To Reno Project and#8212;-Thursdays and Saturdays in October

On Rim to Reno project volunteers will build new trail segments connecting existing trails in the vicinity of Mount Rose and creating a new system that includes loop trails along with the connector trail to Reno. The new system will reduce resource damage by closing user-created routes and providing sustainable trail segments.

Daggett Summit Re-route and#8212; Tuesdays and Saturdays in October

This is the third trail-building season of the multi-year Daggett Summit project, which will connect the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) with the Van Sickle State Park, re-route the TRT off of paved roads, and provide stunning views of Lake Tahoe to more people.

There is a trail segment in danger of being completely choked out by vegetation. Help cut back the brush Oct. 22.
