Watson Cabin combines centennial and North Lake Tahoe chamber mixer

The spirit of our first pioneers is alive and well in Tahoe City. 2009 represents the 100-year anniversary of the completion of the Watson Cabin, which has become an icon of Tahoe history. In honor of this event, a summer-long celebration is planned. The kick-off will be Friday, June 19, when Watson Cabin will play host to a chamber mixer from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a series of events. Historical Tahoe City walking tours

Join this brand new event. Walking tours will explore points of historical interest, as well as local businesses and tourist destinations. Tours meet at 10 a.m. at the Tahoe City Visitors Center and end at the Gatekeeper’s Museum. Participants are encouraged to park at the Gatekeeperand#8217;s Museum. All participants will receive a 10 percent discount in the Gatekeeperand#8217;s or Watson Cabin Museum Stores that day.



Tours are free, donations are encouraged. No advance registration necessary. Tour dates: June 20 and 27; July 11 and 25; Aug. 8, 15 and 29.

July 4th Weekend for Kids



Stop by the Watson Cabin for face painting and pioneer-inspired crafts, from noon to 4 p.m. July 4 and 5. Parents must be present for activities. Face painting is free anc crafts are $3 per child. visit http://www.northtahoemuseums.org.
