TRUCKEE, Calif. — This week’s question: What does Labor Day mean to you?

Here are this week’s responses, as asked Tuesday in Truckee:

Erin Lind, housekeeping, of Truckee: “(It’s) an extra day of rest.”

Cyndi LaCornu, business owner and dental assistant, of Truckee: “Equality in the workplace.”

Ben Wolcott, juice maker, of Truckee: “This year it means Billy Joel at the San Francisco Giants Stadium on Saturday night. I’ve been looking forward to it for months.”

Chip Messner, contractor, of Truckee: “Enjoy(ing) the last of summer. Most of the tourists have left, so we (locals) get a chance to get out and do the things we couldn’t do this summer.”
