What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? Word on the Street

Brian Hunt

TRUCKEE, Calif. — This week’s question: What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up?

Here are the answers, as asked Sunday in Truckee:

David Smith, works in Internet/media, Walnut Creek, Calif.: “My mother made me a pirate (costume) one time. It was a pretty good pirate suit.”

Courtney Ely, hostess, Truckee: “When I was 20-something, I made an Ewok outfit. It’s out of Star Wars; those little bear things. Star Wars had … just come out, so I actually made a furry outfit.”

Brian Hunt, works for a nonprofit, Kings Beach: “A bunch of us dressed up as hobos because you can just smear charcoal on your face and wear nasty old clothes. It takes about 2 minutes to come up with a costume.”

Carlia Dimrco, student, Buenos Aires, Argentina: “A witch because I love witches.”
