TAHOE-TRUCKEE, Calif. — This week’s question: What’s your reaction to Ironman not coming back to Lake Tahoe?

Here are this week’s answers, as asked Monday in Kings Beach:

David Earle, self-employed, Carnelian Bay homeowner: “It’s kind of sad. It takes much needed business and a well regarded sport away from the area. I’ve got a sibling who participates, so that’s one less thing that brings him up to the area where we can see him.”

Mandy Lua, property management, Tahoe Vista: “On the one hand, it did bring quite a bit of business our way, but … I understand their perspective in that Tahoe is a huge challenge to do any sort of event that size. They got almost snowed out the first year, smoked out the second year. I’m bummed, but I get it.”

Bill Harbin, retired football coach, Martinez, Calif.: “I hate to see them discontinue anything like that, that attracts people and gets people competitive.”

Scott Meyer, general contractor, Kings Beach: “I’m disappointed. I thought it was a good boost for the town. I guess I somewhat understand their reasoning. The weather is definitely challenging up here no matter what.”
