TAHOE andamp;#8212; It was an adult-only wine drinking event, but the children were the beneficiaries of the afternoon affair. Large blown-up pictures of Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe youths were displayed on easels dotting the verdant Hyatt Regency’s Cottage Green beside the shores of Lake Tahoe at Incline Village, Nev. The Boys andamp; Girls Club of NLT was founded in 1998 in response to a lack of affordable, year-round youth development services on the North Shore. Now the club, with a little help from its friend the Hyatt, has a wonderful signature event to assist in funding its programs. The Hyatt donates 100 percent of all proceeds from Wine on the Water to the Boys andamp; Girls Club of NLT.The food and wine tasting experience was first class, as the four-star Hyatt in Incline helped organized the whole benefit and helped execute it as well. Twenty-six top-notch wineries were showcased including Rombauer, Spring Mountain, Domaine Carneros, Benessere, Chamisal, Franciscan, Kim Crawford, Pine Ridge, Robert Mondavi, Wild Horse, Primal Roots, Stelzner, Handley, Forman, Sineann, Elyse, Educated Guess, Laird, Mi Sueno, Opolo, Twisted Oak, Caymus, Ste. Michelle, Talbott, Stag’s Leap and Rodney Strong. Tasty tidbits from local restaurants and caterers including the Hyatt’s Lone Eagle Grill (fabulous salmon) and Tahoe Provisions, Big Water Grille, Brimm’s Catering, Bite, The Soule Domaine, Boys and Girls Club chef Christin Wilcox, Susie Scoops Ice Cream, Stephen’s Farmhouse of Yuba City and La Fondue added savory sustenance to the indulgent imbibing. Rows of silent auction tables under umbrellas bolstered the fundraiser’s bottom line which netted more than $30,000. Continual live music added to the merriment. More than 400 guests came from near and far with many from Reno and the North Tahoe-Truckee area. andamp;#8220;We’re delighted with our new relationship with the Hyatt Regency in Incline and their commitment to our kids at the Boys and Girls Club,andamp;#8221; said the club’s exec director Isabelle Wilson.andamp;#8220;We love raising money for the Boys and Girls Club,andamp;#8221; said Fred Findlen, general manager of the Hyatt in Incline. andamp;#8220;A team of our managers participate in an activity day with the kids during the school year, so we really do get behind their organization.andamp;#8221;Some of those whetting their whistles at the water’s edge included Pettit Gilwee and Ralph Turner, Patti and Gary Boxeth, Jason Neary, Julie and David Conover, Barbara and Fred Ilfeld, Geno Menchetti, Blake Riva, Hyatt Regency Incline GM Fred Findlen, Christine and Lew Madden, Nina Pucillo-Bermann and Roger Bergmann, Penny and Steve Teshara, Haley Abel, Jennifer and Bill Rock, Cara Mia Cimarrusi, Boys andamp; Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe board members John Neary, Andy Levy with wife Amy, Debi Moore, Dan Flores with wife Cindy, Bill McGunnigle, Ron Verstappen, Lesia Anders, Sarah Prinster, Linda Jones and John Hassenplug and BGCNLT exec director Isabelle Wilson and husband Eric.andamp;#8212; Submitted to aedgett@sierrasun.com
