Women Empowering Women: Meet Colleen ultra distance endurance athlete Conners-Pace
TRUCKEE, Calif. and#8212; Women Empowering Women will feature Colleen Conners-Pace, an ultra distance endurance athlete Sept. 16, 10 a.m. in the upstairs meeting room at For Goodness Sake, 10157 Donner Pass Road, Truckee.
Come meet this amazing athlete who will describe her 2009 Hawaii Ironman Championship experience. Beginning with and#8220;Itand#8217;s Not All About the Race, Itand#8217;s More About the Journey,and#8221; a talk and slide show documenting her training up to the race, she will also show the days prior to and the race itself. This was a 23-year dream of hers, which she thought might never come to be. Hear how an awakening experience and other positive changes in her life led to the completion of a and#8220;picture perfectand#8221; event. When Colleen speaks, she will have just completed the 2010 Ironman Canada.
Conners-Pace is a native of Tahoe with an MA in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Adult Physical Fitness and Cardiac Rehabilitation. She works through Tahoe Forest Hospital and has just started her own sports performance, coaching and fitness training business. Conners-Pace enjoys working with a variety of clients, from those who have suffered major heart attacks to those who aspire to be a better athlete or just more fit. Educating all who cross her path about how they can improve their wellness is her passion. You donand#8217;t need to be an athlete to benefit from this presentation. Men, as well as women, are encouraged to attend.
