Word on the Street: If you could have one new business open in Tahoe-Truckee, what would it be?

Nick Urguhart

TRUCKEE, Calif. — This week’s question: If you could have one new business open in Tahoe-Truckee, what would it be?

Here are answers, as asked Monday in Truckee:

Susan Turner, retired, Truckee: “Nothing. It has everything that I need.”

Nick Urguhart, cameraman, Truckee: “Probably daycare, so that I can go do some more stuff. I think that would be it, a daycare for her (his daughter’s) age — she’s 2.”

Ray Craig, retired, Truckee: “I’d say probably a place where you could buy more affordable clothing … for men, women, kids. In order to buy clothing here you have to go downtown; those kinds of stores, I feel, they kind of cater toward the tourist, more than the locals. I’d like to see somebody that could come here and carry a little larger variety of clothing for people.”

Morgan Boehm, self-employed, Truckee: “Trader Joe’s. With all the health-conscious people, I think it would do well.”
