Word on the Street: What are your celebration plans for St. Patrick’s Day?

Richard Ludke

KINGS BEACH, Calif. — This week’s question: What are your celebration plans for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17)?

Here are answers, as asked Saturday in Kings Beach:

Anna Anderson, retired | Cedar Flat: “Having friends over for dinner — corned beef, soda bread, cabbage, carrots (and we) might try some green beer.”

Richard Ludke, U.S. Forest Service employee | Truckee: “Preparing for my wife’s birthday, which is the next day. I’m (also) going to wear green.”

Jim Kern, semi-retired | Kings Beach: “We’ll be at a family reunion (abroad). We’ll be having a big corned beef and cabbage dinner, something like that, since most of the family is Irish-Italian.”

Sylvia Ambriz, financial consultant for Bank of the West | Incline Village: “There’s an event at our church, and we will be doing that. It’s like a St. Patrick’s fair, connected to Saint Francis Catholic Church in Incline.”
