Word on the Street: What’s your favorite part of the North Tahoe SnowFest!?

TAHOE CITY, Calif. — This week’s question: What’s your favorite part of SnowFest!?

Here are answers, as asked Monday in Tahoe City:

Joyce Lanza, full-time mom, Tahoe City: “The (Tahoe City) parade is my favorite part. I truly enjoy seeing the community out in downtown Tahoe City, with all of the activities that go on that day, the floats and all the kids.”

Aaron Schwier, X-ray technician, Chilcoot, Calif.: “I think the thing that’s neat about it is the community coming together.”

Leah Dalby, office manager, Tahoe City: “My favorite part of SnowFest! no longer happens. It’s the torchlight parade that used to be at Squaw Valley, with the laser light show. I’m so disappointed.”

Jami Hazen, booking manager for nanny agency, Tahoe City: “The (Tahoe City) parade. I have a 4-year-old … and I have a son … and they both get to be in the parade, so it’s fun. It reminds you how really awesome small communities can be.”
