TAHOE CITY, Calif. — This week’s Word on the Street question: Which do you prefer: downhill or cross-country skiing?

Here are answers, as asked Monday in Tahoe City:

Dee Dee Terzian, ballet teacher, Tahoe City: “I’m a downhill skier, (or) well, I was. (I liked) the speed.”

Richard Caravelli, retired, Tahoe City: “Downhill (for) the exhilaration.”

Yvette Shipman, Realtor, Homewood: “Cross-country for regular exercise, fewer people and the same beauty as when you hike in the summer, but in a new and different way that is ever changing.”

Justin Menichiello, property management, Tahoe City: “Downhill because I love it. It’s my life.”
