TRUCKEE, Calif. – TRUCKEE – Champion skier and local resident Daron Rahlves is often on the road as a competitive skier. However, his hometown of Truckee is always high on his mind. Rahlves will meet and greet with his fans March 7. The Bank of the West Branch in Truckee will host the Truckee Donner Chamber mixer, open to the public, for an opportunity to meet Rahlves, hear about his experiences in competition, and talk about the sport that has won him the title as the most decorated American downhill and Super G skier in U.S. history.

“The Tahoe-Truckee area is home for me in both heart and spirit. This is where we’ve chosen to raise a family, train and work,” said Rahlves who, along with competitive skiing, is also founder of the Rahlves Banzai Tour. “It’s also a great time to be in the area. We’re in the middle of an amazing Banzai Tour and I’m looking forward to meeting the people who come out for the love of the sport or who are here to support our community.”

Meet and greet with Daron Rahlves at Bank of the West, Truckee branch, 11202 Donner Pass Road on Thursday, March 7, from 4:30-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

“This is a great opportunity to support our local Chamber and community,” said Susan Orr, Bank of the West branch manager. “My branch is just as excited about having Daron here as our customers are! We’re looking forward to a great mixer and face time with other local merchants, our customers and the general public.”

About the Rahlves Banzai Tour

Rahlves’ Banzai Tour is a unique race in that athletes compete four at a time, head-to-head on an un-groomed, natural terrain course. Winners from each stop advance to the Sugar Bowl Super Final race to compete against Rahlves. Rahlves, a Truckee resident, is a former World Champion, 12-time World Cup winner, X-Games gold medalist and four-time Olympic skier. Competitors and spectators can join at the remaining two tour stops: March 2-3 at Squaw Valley and March 9-10 at Sugar Bowl Resort.
