Wyatt Haupt Jr.

Wyatt “Whitey” Haupt Jr. is the managing editor for the Truckee Sun.

He started his career with the Ontario Daily Bulletin in 1996, and since that time has gone on to work as a reporter or editor for more than a dozen newspapers in Southern California, Northern California, Colorado, and Oregon.

He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He served four years in the United States Coast Guard before going on to earn his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of California at Irvine.

He snowboards, mountain bikes and surfs, with his favorite spot being a super-secret location in Half Moon Bay where Pabst Blue Ribbon is always on ice.

He is single and lives in Truckee with his cat, Milo.
