Snowboarder Shaun White withdraws from X Games Aspen to rest for Olympics
Halfpipe snowboarder Shaun White has withdrawn from the Winter X Games in Aspen so he can go home to rest for the Olympics, the Associated Press reported.
White caught the flu earlier this month. He was practicing in Aspen this week, but notified event organizers he would not compete. He leaves for Pyeongchang on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Taking White’s place in the lineup for the Sunday, Jan. 28, halfpipe contest is Toby Miller, a 17-year-old American.
