Alder Creek volleyball team wins Tah-Neva championship

The Alder Creek Middle school sixth/seventh-grade volleyball team defeated Carson Middle School in the championship match of the Tah-Neva Championship Tournament in South Lake Tahoe this past Friday.

The girls defeated Pau Wa Lu in three games to open the tournament and swept past Eagle Valley in two games in the next round to advance to the title match. The Cougars then defeated Carson in three exciting games, 25-22, 21-25 and 15-13.

Alder Creek coach Ivazina Blaylock complimented the play of Maia Dvoracek at the net, as well as Shelby Gendreau and Maddie Monson.

and#8220;Everyone played as a team and that is what helped us win,and#8221; the coach said.
