Alder Creek volleyball team wins Tah-Neva title

The Alder Creek Middle School sixth/seventh-grade volleyball team won the Tah-Neva championship on Friday. The Cougars defeated Carson Middle School in straight sets in the final match.

Alder Creek Middle School’s sixth/seventh-grade volleyball team defeated Carson Middle School in straight sets to claim the Tah-Neva title on Friday.

The Cougars, who advanced to the finals with wins over South Tahoe and Carson Valley, earned the title with a 25-10, 25-17 victory over Carson.

Alder Creek’s Kelly Cross recorded four kills, two blocks and two service aces in the final match. Emily Monson and Harlee Netherby had two aces apiece. The team is coached by Ivazina Blaylock.

The Alder Creek eighth-grade team, coached by James McMaster, played into the consolation finals before losing to Incline.
