All-League, All-State soccer | Truckee’s Arnstein MVP, Eberhardt Coach of Year

Truckee senior Thomas Arnstein was voted most valuable player of the Northern Division I-A after scoring a record 45 goals.

The best team in the Division I-A was awarded accordingly in All-League and All-State voting.

After storming back from a 3-0 deficit to win the Division I-A state championship, 14 Truckee boys soccer players received recognition on the Northern Division I-A All-League team, while six were voted to the All-State team.

Senior forward Thomas Arnstein and his coach led the way. Arnstein was voted the league’s Most Valuable Player after breaking the single-season Division I-A scoring record, with 45 goals. Casey Eberhardt was nameed Coach of the Year after leading the Wolverines (20-4-3) to an NIAA record eighth state championship.



The awards were determined by the league’s coaches.

Aside from Arnstein, six Wolverines were voted to the first team, including Manuel Sarabia at forward, David Martinez at halfback, Jake Lahr and Nick Oberriter at fullback, Gabriel Serna at goalkeeper, and Jordan Fereira as a utility player.



Halfback Zack Barta and fullback Jose Gonzalez were voted to the second team, while Leo Villa, Alex Colomenares Lopez, Nathan Ariza, Zach Williams and Steven Lopez received honorable mention.

In All-State voting, Arnstein, Oberriter and Martinez made the first team, and Fereira, Lahr and Serna made the second team.
