All-League basketball | Lakers’ Alex Tyler voted MVP
ALL |
North Tahoe junior point guard Alex Tyler did a lot of things well for his Lakers this season, and Mount Rose League coaches took notice.
Tyler was named Division III All-Mount Rose League MVP after helping lead the Lakers into the quarterfinal round of the regional postseason tournament.
The All-League awards were voted on by coaches of the mixed-division Mount Rose League, which includes Division III and Division I-A schools around the lake, plus Sparks. The coaches determined a separate first team for the two divisions, while the two divisions were combined for the second team and honorable mention selections.
In addition to Tyler’s MVP, senior teammate Colin Spencer was voted to the first team, while sophomore Mitchell Myers received honorable mention recognition.
Truckee also had several players honored with All-League selections, led by senior Adam Morgan’s first team vote. Fellow senior Graham Millie was voted to the second team, while David Burnham and Nick Oberriter each received honorable mention.
Sparks senior Bobby Brown was voted Division I-A MVP of the Mount Rose League.
Girls All-League has not been received.
