All-League basketball: Truckee sophomore honored

Truckee sophomore guard Gabe Cruz was honored with a selection to the Northern Division I-A All-League basketball team, receiving honorable mention recognition.
The All-League awards were determined by the league’s coaches.
Eric Klekas, a junior guard for Elko, was voted league MVP, while Lowry’s Chad Peters was Coach of the Year.
Klekas, whose Indians won the Northern Region title before losing in the state semifinal round, led the Division I-A with a 22.7-point scoring average.
Cruz averaged 10 points a game and made 34 three-pointers in 24 games for the Wolverines.
