All-League soccer | Division III first team released

The original list of All-Sierra League players that was released last week did not include the Division III first team, which was done separately of the Division I-A and was not received until Monday.

Both North Tahoe teams fared well in first-team voting, while the second team and honorable mention, which ran Friday, combined the players from the Sierra League’s two divisions.

The awards were voted on by the league’s coaches.

North Tahoe junior goalkeeper Angela Wood was voted defensive MVP for the girls, and senior Riley McCarthy was voted defensive MVP on the boys’ side.

Emily Pieper was named to the DIII first team as a midfielder and Kami Abi-Nader as a defender.

In boys’ voting, Trevor Semmens and Eduardo Martinez were named to the first team as forwards, Francisco Medina and Wildon DesLauriers made the first team as midfielders, and Nico Monforte as a utility player.
