Alpine ski teams prep for state

Gearing up for state, which took place yesterday after press time, the Tahoe-Truckee High School downhill ski teams competed at Alpine Meadows on Feb. 24, coming out second overall, just behind North Tahoe.

The boys’ team took first, while the girls finished third.

Girls’ race

In the girls’ G.S., Katie Linette topped Truckee finishers with a 217; Charlotte Fugier finished just behind her with 213 points. Stacey Cook earned 180 points.

Boys’ race

In the boys’ race, Mike Thomas scored 210, Gary Cook had 181 and Bryan Richmond came away with 136.

State

Yesterday’s state championship was a head-to-head competition at Heavenly, with the top eight point-earners from each school competing.

Complete results will be carried in next week’s paper.
