Angels undefeated

Going into the Easter break, the Flagg Construction Angels (Truckee fastpitch softball team) were 2-0; two weeks later, they were still undefeated, going 6-0 in the Reno league.

In the past two weeks, the Angels have pounded out 60 hits, including 11 home runs – three of which were grand slams – and 69 runs.

In a game against the Fernley Padres, the Angels won 12-6. Julie Hill, Melissa Gadsby, Beth Reedy and Crysta Weed were each 2-3, with Hill hitting a homer.

Beating the Reno A’s 15-12, Gadsby, Erica Rice and Katy Monihan were each 2-3 with Gadsby hitting a home run.

In a 22-10 Angels’ win over the Reno Rockies, Reedy led the way, hitting for the cycle with a grand slam, a triple, double and a single, while Hill, Weed and Courtney Prouty also homered. Kaley White went 2-3.

In a 20-10 win against the Reno Dodgers, Hill led the way offensively with three home runs, including two grand slams and 10 RBI, while Gadsby and Prouty also homered. Weed, Rice and White each went 3-3.

Defensive standouts in the last four games were: Alexis Auckenthaler (second base), Kelly Tierney (second base), Franchesca Schott (left field) and Michaela Evans (right field).
