Bike series continues at Northstar
NORTHSTAR – Northstar-at-Tahoe’s weekly mountain bike race series for riders of all ages and abilities are Thursday nights until Aug. 16. The cost to participate in each race is $8.
Northstar’s trail crew has built two courses that will alternate each week. One course is four miles, the other is seven miles. The number of laps a competitor completes will depend on the category he or she is registered under. Race categories for men and women are: beginner, sport and expert/pro.
Race registration will take place in Northstar’s Village from 5 to 5:45 p.m. the day of the event. The race begins promptly at 6 p.m. at the base of the gondola. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each race category at the end of the series in August. Winners will be determined based on cumulative points earned throughout the series. All racers are required to wear a helmet. Northstar will not provide tech support.
Northstar’s mountain bike park is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers over 100 miles of trails, most accessible by chairlift.
