Boys Soccer: Boys ready for more

The body count has yet to be tallied, but the destruction that the Truckee varsity boys’ soccer team has left in its wake is unmistakable.

Racking up 14 goals against Rite of Passage on Oct. 18, the Wolverines ripped up the field with its mighty paws, stopping only to congratulate each other on yet another job well done.

Elias Silver delivered four goals for the Wolverines, bringing his total into the neighborhood of forty goals so far this season.

Also scoring for Truckee was Chilean exchange student Andre Echnique with three in the net and Jason Waters, who put two of his own across the line.

The Wolverines also defeated Lowry and Spring Creek last Friday and Saturday, respectively, solidifying its top position in the league with displays of domination and confidence in both games.

The secret to the Wolverines’ success? Coach Rob Curtis offers his team’s strategy of “slow and steady” and consistency as the driving force behind its winning season.

The depth and skill of the Tahoe-Truckee bench that Curtis has to work with this year is also a major component behind the team’s accomplishments.

The Wolverines continue to maul its opponents one by one, storing each win as energy for the real battle that will ensue in post season play which begins on Halloween.
