Boys’ tennis moves to 5-2

The Truckee High School boys’ tennis team suffered its first two losses of the season to McQueen on Sept. 18 and Galena on Tuesday. Their record is now 5-2.

After winning eight out of nine singles matches, Truckee turned around to lose seven out of nine doubles matches and lose the match 23-22.

Kaya Lampe and J.J. Besio won all three of there singles matches without losing a game. Greg Beno won two out of his three singles matches.

In doubles play, Court Hickman and Gabe Cooper won their first two doubles matches. The two Wolverines played for the overall match victory with the score 22-20 in Truckee’s favor. The match went back and forth until a tiebreaker ended in a McQueen victory.

Tuesday’s game was rough for the Wolverines as they fell to Galena 35-10.

The Wolverines hope to get back on the winning track Sept. 30 against Sparks.
