Boys’ tennis team hopes to rally

Two more frustrating losses last week against Galena and Reed posed a minor setback for the TTHS boys’ tennis team.

On Thursday, Sept. 18 the team traveled to Galena, a school that traditionally dominates the league in tennis.

Despite a strong effort by the inexperienced Wolverine team, Galena won every singles and doubles match and collected 21.5 team points to Truckee’s single point.

Another large team with a strong tennis tradition, Reed High School topped the Wolverines at Tahoe Donner on Saturday, winning every match except one singles game in round three between Truckee’s #2 singles player Jason Pawelczyk and Reed’s Schyobert.

The boys’ next match is today at Sparks at 3:30 p.m.
