Collins Lake produces some bruters

Ryan Barella of Windsor, Calif. got nothing but nibbles all day before this 8-pound, 12-ounce trout pounced on the Powerbait at the end of his line last Monday. Possibly better than the thrill of the catch was the thrill of finding a red tag on the fish, meaning he had won $100 cash. Barella’s friends who accompanied him on the fishing trip also did pretty well: Brad Husted of Reno caught a 4-pound, 6-ounce rainbow and Mike Kolko pulled in a 3-pounder. They used green Powerbait. A pair of Truckee residents, Bob and Sara, caught five trout apiece while sitting in a boat using chartreuse Powerbait. The largest in their bunch weighed in at 6-pounds, 8-ounces.
