The second annual Steve “Rocker” Anderson Memorial Skatepark Gromtest on Aug. 16 was a huge success, raising more than $2,500 toward the new “Rocker Memorial” skatepark in Truckee.

The contest featured 51 competitors from the greater Truckee/Tahoe area and from as far away as Sacramento and Reno, which was up from the 35 skaters and $1,500 raised in the inaugural event.

Local rockers Flip the Record donated their time and talent all day in the heat to play their unique brand of punk for the skaters and the crowd, which was treated to food donated by El Toro Bravo and cooked by the crew from Totally Board.

To make a tax-deductible donation to the new Truckee skatepark, visit http://www.rockermemorial.org or mail a check to “Rocker Memorial Skatepark” 13100 Filly Lane, Truckee, CA 96161.
