Demsar defends Gunbarrel 25 title

Sun News Service report

The older the Gunbarrel 25 gets, the more it remains the same.

South Shore’s Janez Demsar won the celebration of skiing and riding the face of Heavenly Mountain Resort for the sixth straight year on Saturday.

Demsar completed 25 runs down the face in a record two hours, 57 minutes and 7 seconds. Tom Bork was second and Andre Villaret third.

Dave Sannazzaro also made a title defense in the ironman category, completing 46 laps. Kimberly Plake, wife of the event’s celebrity host, Glen, became the new ironwoman champ with 36 completed laps.
