Final cut made, JVs ready

The boys’ and girls’ rosters are in place for the Tahoe-Truckee Wolverines’ 1999-2000 Junior Varsity basketball season.

The girls

This year’s JV girls’ team comprises 12 players, six freshmen and six sophomores.

Making the cut were Lindsay Borghello, Jaime Froelich, Jenna Greene, Jaime Morton-Hawley, Kaci LaPoint, Deidre Panziera, Natalie Pratt, Andrea Richards, Vanessa Ramirez, Kelly Snyder, Sydney Stokes and Jessie Turner.

The team is coached by Jon Western. Western cited Pratt, playing point guard, and Panziera, at forward or center, as this season’s key players.

The boys

The boys’ team also has a half-and-half ratio of freshmen and sophomores.

Playing for the Wolverines this season will be Jason Gifford, T.J. Dwyer, Eric Detwiler, Josh Furr, Andre Echenighe, Kevin Suter, Gabe Gannam, Ryan Cambell, Eric Hansen, Kevin Schlesinger, Jason Ames and Frankie Calderon.

Head coach Jon Holvorson in his third year coaching the JV team, said that he has “as high expectations for this team as [he’s] had with any team.”
