The Truckee High School girls’ varsity golf team placed second on Oct. 3 at Tahoe Donner.

The second place finish was enough to ensure the team a trip to the state finals.

The team finished with a 542 overall. Katie Fischer shot the team low with a 105. Jennifer Womack and Jamie Ramon shot a 108. Renee Cardinali shot a 109 and Katy Jones finished with a 112.

The scores were higher than usual for the team, but this is due to the difficulty of the course.

“Tahoe Donner is the toughest course they play all year,” said coach Mike Merriman.

With on more match before state, the Lady Wolverines are looking for a top finish at state.
