Girls golf: Sophomore wows field at Wildcreek

Sierra Sun staff reports

The Truckee High girls golf team was expecting its three seniors to carry the load, but it was sophomore Renee Cardinali who dazzled in the 2004 season opener at Wildcreek Golf Course in Sparks, Nev., on Aug. 26.

Cardinali shot a Northern 3A tournament-low 92, but it wasn’t enough to catch Incline, which shot 524 as a team on the 72-par course. Truckee was second-best with a 573, while Spring Creek finished third (604).

Other Truckee scores included: Katie Fischer 102, Jennifer Womack 107, Katy Jones 114, Ali Carroll 158, Emma Shaffer 158
