Girls’ soccer defeats Bishop Manogue

As the rain began to fall on Thursday, the Truckee High School girls’ varsity soccer team hit the field against Bishop Manogue.

The lady Wolverines started off the first half with solid shots on goal from its offense.

As the rain fell harder, so did the Wolverines’ shot’s on goal. And before long, Breanne Wright assisted Jenna Lowrance in the first goal of the game.

From then on Truckee fired constant pressure at the Manogue goalie. The Wolverines showed they were not afraid to slow the game down and pass the ball out of their zone.

After showing great passing, the Wolverines found their second goal with a nice kick from Nicole Cardinali. Lowrance added another goal shortly after to put the Wolverines up by three.

From the far left side of the field Hayley Hudson shot a goal to the far right side of the goal box for a score.

The Wolverines went into half time up 4-0.

With the start of the second half came a new wave of intense weather. Minutes into the second half the game was called and the Wolverines walked away with the win.

“They did good, they were playing well and moving the ball,” said head coach Kyle Adams.
