Staff Reports

Following are results from the Truckee-Donner Recreation and Park District’s girls’ softball league.

Third/fourth grade league

Ken Panziera Construction 17 – Crystal Bay Aviation 16: Clutch hitting by Patricia Salazar and an excellent defensive effort from Sarah Grossman helped pull out a squeaker for Panziera.

Dale E. Wood, Atty. 17 – Truckee Optimist 14: Kristin Milligan blasted a grand slam, Kylie Thrift had a double and Micala Reed caught three fly balls for the winners. For the Optimist, Monika Nicholas had a two-run double and Ryan Kass, Jordan Raber and Tawni Salas all played sparkling defense.

Jerry’s Painting Service 20 – Truckee Optimist Club 15: Katrina Silva and Kaitlin Zusy caught fly balls and Zusy, Julie Madden and Jenny Gerese each had big hits to pace the Painters. Raber and Brianne Storz had three hits apiece for the Optimist.

Baskin Robbins 12 – Tahoe City 11: Strong defensive plays by Alexis Fallow, Laurel Patterson and Angelina Navarro helped lead the locals to the win.

Fifth/sixth grade league

Century 21 Don Casler Realty/Anita Racicot Real Estate Specialist 16 – KC Painting 10: Zoe Richards homered and Ashley Candler, Felicia Tenorio and Leah Baker all played great defense for the winners. Kelly Conway was outstanding with the glove and Ashley Bratland was awesome with the bat for KC Painting.

Quality Painting 24 – Shaffer Paving 21: Flor Reza had four hits and four RBI and Amber McGlyn had two RBI to lead Quality Painting. Kim Caperon homered for the Pavers.
