Girls’ tennis beats Fallon, Incline

On Thursday, Sept. 6, the Truckee girls tennis team beat Fallon High School 16.5-6.0.

Helped out by three out of three wins from the number two doubles team of Kate Rose and Christine Miller, the Wolverines took 13 out of 18 sets.

Singles players Lindsay Borghello, Jackie Schwartz and Shelly Ratto each took two out of three sets from Fallon adding two points each to the Wolverine cause.

Strong doubles play also set the tone of the day, as the Wolverines dropped only two sets on the day.

Thursday in a match against Incline, the Wolverines continued their success with an 18.5-4.0 victory over Incline.

Picking up three points on defaults by Incline, who fielded only eight players, the Wolverines went on to take 12 out of 15 sets.

Incline picked up three points with two doubles win and the other with a singles victory. Borghello and Schwartz again went unbeaten as did doubles partners Rose and Miller.
