Girls’ varsity soccer suffers loss

Dan Savickas

The Truckee High School girls’ varsity soccer lost to 4A Douglas High School 2-1 on Tuesday.

“We made two mistakes and they (Douglas) capitalized on both of them,” said head coach Kyle Adams.

With a Caitlin Holman goal, the Lady Wolverines went into half time tied with Douglas. But in the second half a questionable no-call led to a Douglas break away resulting in the game deciding goal.

“We tried and off-sides trap and didn’t get the call,” Adams said.

“In the first half we controlled the pace of the game pretty well,” Adams added. “In the second half we just got tired.”

“When the girl’s are in there they play hard and well,” he said. “Games like that are fun win or lose, there’s valuable lessons to be learned either way.”
