MEEKS BAY, Calif. — As far as sights one would want to see at a finish line go, Lake Tahoe’s Lester Beach has to rank up there pretty high.

The West Shore beach is the endpoint for a 7.5-mile run taking place Saturday, Sept 19.

About 175 people are expected to participate in the Emerald Bay Trail Run, which is part of Big Blue Adventure’s Tahoe Trail Running Series.

The run starts at Eagle Point and takes runners around Emerald Bay, up the Rubicon Trail to D.L. Bliss State Park and then to Lester Beach.

“I would also note that the run does not have too much elevation gain and some great fast and flat sections,” said Big Blue Adventures’ Bryan Rickards in an email. “You also get great views of the lake right from the start without having to work too hard. The race is point to point with a shuttle provided to bring finishers back to the start.

“We will also provide bags that runners can have bought to the finish from the start if they want a jacket or change of clothing.”

The race is scheduled to start at 9 a.m., with the first finisher arriving at Lester Beach around 9:45 a.m. Post-event activities will stat at 11 a.m. On-site registration for individuals is $66.
