Incline at Truckee soccer | Boys tie in nonleague affair

Staff report

The Truckee and Incline boys soccer teams played to a 1-1 draw in a nonleague game contested in Truckee on Wednesday.

The Highlanders took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute. Ten minutes later, Truckee junior Alex Colomenares answered with the equalizer, assisted by Nathan Ariza.

Neither team managed to score in the second half.

“They have a very strong team,” Truckee coach Casey Eberhardt said of the defending Division III state champs.

“Incline always has a good team. It’s why we schedule these scrimmages against them.”

Eberhardt said the Wolverines are bonding as a team and playing increasingly well together. Yet they still have things to work on.

“All in all, it was an OK game,” he said. “We didn’t get the results we wanted. We still have a lot of work to do.”

The Truckee boys are scheduled to host South Tahoe in their Division I-A league opener on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Truckee’s girls, meanwhile, defeated Incline 5-2 on Tuesday. No other information was available.
