Incline cross-country: Volz races to top-10 finish at Stanford Invite

Staff report

Junior Urs Volz led the Highlanders with an eighth-place finish at the 42nd Stanford Cross Country Invitational this past Saturday.

Volz covered the 5K course in 19:28.8, which was good enough for a top-10 finish in a field of 166 runners in the varsity girls Division 5 race. Natalie O’Brien from Flintridge Prep claimed the win in 18:35.2.

Three Incline boys also raced — Nelson Bedient (19:40.5), Dillon Jenkins (20:05.5) and Brandon Swick (21:29.5).

The Highlanders are scheduled to race at The 4000 at Del Oro High School in Loomis on Saturday.
