Given a full roster of players, the defending state champion Incline boys golf team is a tough act to beat.
The Highlanders claimed the team victory by 33 strokes over second-place Whittell in a Division III-IV tournament at Eagle Valley Golf Club in Carson City this past Thursday.
Incline posted a season-low team score of 423, while Whittell scored a 456, Sierra Lutheran 501, North Tahoe 525 and Hawthorne 542. Sage Ridge and Yerington did not have enough golfers to record a team score.
The Highlanders were led individually by Mitchell Cornell and Bryan Golombik, who finished second and third, respectively, with scores of 72 and 73. Both were edged by Griffin Cooper of Yerington, who earned tournament medalist honors with a 71.
Incline players posted solid results across the board, with Brandon Swick shooting a personal-best 91, Peter Larson coming in at 92, Matthew Poalillo 95 and Cooper Lyons 101.
The Highlanders will compete in another league tournament at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course at Stateline this Thursday.
