Incline golf: Schwartz, Cohn, Findlen sweep podium at Eagle Valley

The Incline girls golf team won a league match over Sierra Lutheran at Eagle Valley Golf Course last week.

Incline golfers swept the top three spots individually, with Christine Schwartz earning tournament medalist honors with an 88 — her lowest score of the season. She was followed by teammates Kennedy Cohn with a 96 and Tori Findlen with a 98.

Incline’s Haley Carlson fired a 117 in her first match of the season, Bridgette Johnson came in at 132 and Kristina Goetz at 135.

The Highlanders posted a low team score of 399 to Sierra Lutheran’s 420. Rite of Passage did not have a complete team.

“The league is becoming very competitive between Incline and Sierra Lutheran, which should provide some very strong competition as the season progresses,” Incline coach Joe Humasti said. “Sierra Lutheran continues to improve each week.”

Incline will compete in another Division III tournament at Carson Valley this Thursday, Sept. 24.
