Anne Schrage likes the regional championship stage.

The Incline sophomore claimed the individual Northern Region Division I-A title for the second straight year this past Saturday at Truckee’s Tahoe Donner Tennis Center. She did it in dominant fashion.

Schrage blazed through the bracket, as she defeated Hannah Lindsay of Fallon 6-0, 6-0 in the quarterfinal round and Kylee Lyons of South Tahoe 6-1, 6-0 in the semis. She had a bye in the first round.

South Tahoe’s Maggie Lee also coasted through the bracket and into the finals, setting up a showdown against Schrage.

After Schrage ended a hard-fought first set with a 7-5 win, she closed out the match with a 6-1 victory. She’ll enter the Division I-A State Championship in Las Vegas this Friday and Saturday as the No. 1 seed from the North.

Schrage will look to avenge last year’s quarterfinal loss to Anjali Daulat of The Meadows.
